It seems to me with all the complaining going on we could have mustered up a better voter turnout on Sept. 5. I don't understand why we re-elect the same politicians or allow 11 current officials to go unchallenged with their re-election bids.

These same officials believe they are re-elected because the people are OK with the job they do, but every poll we see says that most residents are fed up with politicians. We seem too fixated with the president. Well, the president has no bearing on my property tax or insurance rates.

So many people get fixated with a particular political party. Well, it's time to vote for people who will do something for us. Who sets your city tax rate? Your city commission does. Who sets your county tax rate? The County Commission does. Who complains about needing more money? The School Board, etc. These are local politicians we continue to re-elect, and I don't get why we can't find more candidates.
