More road-blocks for the Antigua Labour Party’s (ALP) planned march as the court adjourns the matter for a second time with a new hearing date of 10 Nov.
Party spokesman Lionel “Max” Hurst said the reason for the delay this time was the absence of the Attorney-General Justin Simon, from the state.
Added to that, Hurst said, the Acting Police Commissioner Delano Christopher was not served, but explained the current rule dictates that once you serve the attorney-general you have served the commissioner of police.

The tables have turned and government is facing a lawsuit from the trio of former government ministers named in the issue of alleged questionable sale of government lands for their own private purposes.
Southern Developers Ltd., and Antigua Aggregates Ltd., and its directors former Prime Minister Lester Bird, Opposition Leader Robin Yearwood and former Trade Minister Hugh Marshall Snr., have jointly filed a counter-suit against Justin Simon in his personal capacity and in his professional capacity as attorney-general, and Registrar of Lands Cecile Hill for misfeasance in public office against the claimants.
They are also seeking aggravated damages against Simon and the registrar of lands, and exemplary damages against the attorney-general and Hill as public officers committing “oppressive and arbitrary conduct” stating Simon has no authority in law to file or apply for restriction on the lands of the citizens of Antigua & Barbuda in his name.
A Barbudan topped the list while the name of an outstanding cricketer was the most prominent among those honoured at Tuesday’s ceremonial parade at the Antigua Recreation Grounds to mark the 24th anniversary of Antigua & Barbuda’s Independence.
The late Claude Earl Francis was named as a Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of the Nation (KCN) for services to the legal profession, making him the first Barbudan to be knighted by his country.
Former West Indies wicket-keeper Ridley Jacobs has joined another list of great cricketing names to be held up with pride. After being named to the Sticky Wicket Hall of Fame earlier this year, his country has now honoured him with a national award – a Grand Cross of the Most Illustrious Order of Merit (GCM) for his contributions to cricket.
The scientist was expected to arrive in the country early this week to begin her work. She was expected to visit the crime scene where she was to secure samples and evidence for further forensic analysis.
Police reports indicate Francis was attacked in her bedroom while sleeping sometime between 3 and 5 a.m. last Friday and has been left traumatised following the ordeal.
